ICYMI: Asian Heritage Month is well underway! We're sharing our AHM playlist with you and some inspiration for how to spend the season.
Jam to SUKOSHI's Asian Heritage Month Playlist
The SUKOSHI team curated a Spotify playlist featuring our favourite artists across the Asian diaspora. These are the tunes that get us moving, inspired, or simply get stuck in our head all the time.
Get Intentional This AHM
As we celebrate our Asian heritage this month, it's important to get intentional. We're not Asian just for May, after all. If you’re in search of thoughtful ways to spend the month and beyond, here are some ideas to get you started:
- Support small AAPI-owned businesses. Show up for the community by shopping your essentials, crafts, or blind boxes from AAPI-owned stores.
- Connect with AAPI organizations. Check out Asian Queer Alliance Toronto, Living Hyphen, Asian Mental Health Collective, and more.
- Watch AAPI film and television. Throw on Everything Everywhere All at Once (for the hundredth time) or dive into series like Ms. Marvel or The Chair.
- Read Asian-American & Pacific Islander stories. Add these authors to your TBR pile: Cathy Park Hong, T. Kira Madden, or Catherine Hernandez.
- Learn from Asian-American & Pacific Islander voices. Listen to podcasts like AsianBossGirl, Brown People We Know, or Living Hyphen.
- Host a potluck picnic. Share your favourite cultural foods with your friends. Go the extra mile and prepare the menu with your friends before heading down to the park!
We hope you have a very happy Asian Heritage Month!
Love,
SUKOSHI <3
