GFRIEND was a girl group consisting of six members formed by Source Music. They made their debut with the release of their first mini album, "Season of Glass," on January 15, 2015, and performed their debut stage on Music Bank the following day. The group was known for their main concepts, including "powerful innocent," which combined innocence with sharp choreography, "passionate melancholy," characterized by orchestral and sentimental sounds, and "witch," which celebrated female empowerment. Their music videos often followed a storytelling format and were part of a fictional universe called "A Tale of the Glass Bead," which was also depicted through mini books. However, on May 22, 2021, GFRIEND officially disbanded when all members' contracts expired on the same day, and they collectively decided not to renew them.
